For my fellow Americans Thanksgiving is right around the corner, that means the Thanksgiving menu needs to be made! My favorite part about the menu is the dessert section so today we are going to talk about some healthy desserts options to bring to the Thanksgiving table this year, or for anybody outside of America, you can have some savory sweets to enjoy right before the winter season comes!
Cinnamon Apple Crumble Cake!
This melt in your mouth cake is a hidden gem when it comes to desserts. The main recipe for this cake is not a healthy option but thanks to stores like Lucky’s healthy alternative ingredients can be found for almost everything! That is what I will be doing today to the best of my ability. The recipe I found is from a website called “Oh My Goodness Chocolate Desserts”. If you’re interested in the recipe or the website I have it linked below!
Now onto the baking, the prep time for this recipe is about 20 minutes and the baking time is 40 minutes, but the catch is the cake calls for making three different recipes. One for the cake, one for the crumble and apples, and one for the frosting on top of it all. The work is not tough but it is a lot. I will not go into the recipe because I linked it above but the process of making the cake was fun and was worth it at the end to have a taste of cinnamon, apple and sweetness melt in your mouth altogether.
Apple Pie Bites!
This recipe is a twist of a classic holiday dessert; the apple pie. But this time the pie is in bite sizes and acts as a personal pie. I found the recipe on a website called “The Blond Cook”. If you want to look more into it, the link to the website is below!
This recipe is easier compared to the Cinnamon Apple Crumble Cake. The prep time is 15 minutes and the cook time is 12 minutes. This dessert would be fun to make with kids or the whole family. The bites are also perfect to eat, it barely causes a mess and is a perfect proportion of sweetness and mouthwatering texture.
Who would not want a gooey brownie? The best part is, it is vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free! A perfect recipe I found on “One Hungry Bunny” it is exciting for anybody trying to go healthy but still wants to enjoy a treat. If you’re interested in the recipe or the website the link is below! The recipe includes coconut shavings on top but I did not include it.
The recipe is great for anybody wanting to try a new recipe and is up for a challenge. The prep time is only 5 minutes and the cooking time is 30. But the brownies have healthier options so it is more expensive and involves very different ingredients like avocados! But they work just as well as the basic ingredients used for baking. The brownies themselves are a bit bitter due to the cocoa powder so instead of doing half a cup of the cocoa powder I did one-fourth cup of it and it even out perfectly with the rest of the ingredients, you can barely tell it is made from avocados!
These three baked goods are perfect for the end of the fall season! The best part is, all three of these eye-popping treats can come as gluten-free and vegan! Comment below which recipe you want to try!
